About the course
Designed for beginner climbers who have never climbed independently in rocks or those who want to refresh and enhance the knowledge covered in a similar course and start feeling more confident.
This is our unique program designed to help you confidently master the essentials of sport climbing and perfect your belay techniques
Based in the Będkowska Valley near Kraków, the course takes place both there and on the nearby Jura Rocks.
Prepares for independent climbing on "sport" (bolted), single-pitch routes,
Age limit: from 16+.
Program
Overview of safety rules and climbing ethics,
Learning of how to use climbing equipment, including putting on a harness and tying the rope properly,
Learning top-rope and lead belaying with different devices (e.g., tube, semi-automatic belay devices),
Basic climbing techniques,
Lead climbing – lead climbing independently building an anchor at the top,
Identifying risks while climbing and handling emergency situations,
Learning how to place top rope securely,
Falling practice – understanding the belayer's role and correct reactions,
Optional: Rope descents.
